PTDF Scholarship for Undergraduate & Postgraduate in Federal Uni
PTDF Scholarship for Undergraduate & Postgraduate in Federal Uni Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is the Federal Government agency that has the obligation to develop indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology in order to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry. The foundation invites requests from all eligible Nigerians to register for the 2024/2025 Undergraduate, Masters and PHD scholarship for students in any Nigerian Federal Universities.
Eligibility for The PTDF Scholarship
- 1. Undergraduate:
- Applicants need to be full-time scholars in any of the Federal universities
- Candidates need be in their second year.
- The course has to be related to oil and gas industry as announced.
- Scholars ought to have been admitted to the University in the 19 academic secession only.
- Candidates must Have 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO with English Language and Mathematics
- Applicants should have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a scale of 5 or 3.0 on a scale of 4 which is equal to 2.1 in the first year for the 19 batch of students
- Candidates have to make available their transcripts for the first year of study (transcripts need to be signed and stamped by the HOD/Exams Officer or any other authorized staff).
1) (ISS) MSc:
- The candidates need have a full-time admission letter to any Federal University.
- The candidates must have a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in any oil and gas related field or a 2.2 with a minimum working experience of 2 years in the oil and gas industry.
- candidates course have to be related to the oil and gas industry.
- Candidates must have at least 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO results (not more than 2 sittings and the two results must precede the first degree)
- Applicants must have a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or Letter of exemption
- Applicants Should have a Certificate of indigeneship (evidence of the state of origin and local government)
- The aspirants Personal statement of at least of 1000 words declaring reasons for undertaking the course of study
PhD (ISS):
- The candidates need have a full-time admission letter to any Federal University.
- The candidates must have a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in any oil and gas related field or a 2.2 with a minimum working experience of 2 years in the oil and gas industry.
- Must have a minimum of merit in a second-degree certificate in an oil and gas related field
- Candidates must have at least 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO results (not more than 2 sittings and the two results must precede the first degree)
- Applicants must have a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or Letter of exemption
- Applicants Should have a Certificate of indigeneship (evidence of the state of origin and local government)
- The Candidates study area need to be applicable to the oil and gas industry
- PhD study proposal of not more than 6 pages. The proposal template can be accessed through the aspirant’s profile on the PTDF Scholarship Management Portal.
How to Apply for PTDF Scholarship
The application form can be assessed online through the PTDF Scholarship Management Portal at scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng the Instructions and Guidelines on how to gain access to the application form is specified on the Portal.
Documents That Are to Be Uploaded by Undergraduate Applicants
- Proof of statement of WAEC/SSCE/NECO results with a minimum of 5 credits, with English Language and Mathematics (not more than 2 sittings and the first sitting result must be uploaded).
- Candidates Letter of admission into the University
- Applicants First-year academic transcript(s) signed and stamped by HOD/Exams Officer or any other authorized staff.
- Applicants Certificate of indigene-ship (proof of the state of origin and local government)
- The aspirants Personal statement of at least of 1000 words declaring reasons for undertaking the course of study
Documents That Are to Be Uploaded by Postgraduate Applicants
Candidates are to scan copies of these document and attach them to their online registration forms (all documents need to be in pdf apart from your passport and it must be in the right file sizes as specified in the portal).

- Candidates WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO Result(s)
- Aspirants Admission Letter (2024/2025 or 2024/2025 session)
- Candidates Personal Statement
