As you know, winter is a huge season in Aspen and Snowmass. We can’t wait until fresh powder covers every inch of our mountain town and we can hit the slopes! Wintersköl™ started all the way back in 1951 when locals decided that this season needed to be celebrated in typical Nordic fashion. Now, thousands of people join us each year for four days of fun!

The first snowfall of winter for Aspen most often arrives in October. About twice in a decade some snow lands in September. The season’s last snowfall typically happens in May, but some years also get a little snow in June. Aspen is normally free of snow every year during July and August.
