How to Complete UENR Undergraduate Admission Forms

The 2024/2025 admission forms for the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) for undergraduate and diploma programmes has been released.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources, (UENR) invites applications from prospective applicants for admission into undergraduate and diploma programmes of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani for the 2024/2025 Academic year.

UENR ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

Admission is open to:

(a)        A Four Year Degree Programme   

i. SSSCE holders with credit passes (A-D) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes (A-D) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study with an aggregate score of 24 or better.

ii. WASSCE holders with credit passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes (A1-C6) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study with an aggregate score of 36 or better.

iii. GENERAL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE (GBCE) holders with credit passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

iv. ADVANCED LEVEL holders with credit in at least Five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English and Mathematics, plus at least two passes in the subjects relevant to the programme of study.

v. FOREIGN APPLICANTS who have any of the above qualifications or their equivalences from an accredited/recognized institution.

vi. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Other qualifications acceptable for consideration include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, American Grade 13 Examinations and other external qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).

2022 WASSCE CANDIDATES

Final Year students who will be writing their WASSCE from August to October 2022 can also apply. Such applicants must select “Awaiting Results” in place of the grade in the online application portal.

(b)     A Two Year Diploma Programme

i. SSSCE holders with passes (A-E) in all subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus 3 passes (A-E) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

ii. WASSCE holders with passes (A1-D7) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus passes (A1-D7) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

Mature Applicants

Applicants must:
i. be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate
documentary proof of date of birth.

ii. pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution itself (English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test).

iii. possess any of the following:
> SSSCE/WASSCE,
> Teacher’s Cert. ‘A’
> NVTI/NABPTEX Certificates

Applicants should purchase an e-voucher containing the Application Number and PIN for Two Hundred Ghana Cedis only (GHS 200) from the following sale points:

  • Ghana Post Offices nationwide (Alternatively dial *447* 160# on all networks and follow the instructions).
  • GCB Bank branches nationwide.
  • Zenith Bank branches nationwide.
  • UENR Finance Directorate, Main Campus, Sunyani.

Step by Step Guide to Apply for UENR Undergraduate Admission

Before moving to the online application platform, applicants must have the following:

  1. Valid personal email address
  2. Valid personal mobile phone number
  • Scanned copies of certified certificates and transcripts for Diploma and HND holders
  1. Foreign applicants must have scanned copies of certificates and other relevant documents
  2. Scanned copy of passport photo with the following requirements:
  • Full face, front view and opened eyes.
  • Make sure photo presents full head from top of hair to shoulders.
  • Take the photo in a plain white or off-white background.
  • Avoid shadows on the face or background.
  • Do not wear sunglasses or hats.

Steps to Complete the Online Application Form

All applicants are to complete the on-line admission application at www.uenr.edu.gh using the Application Number and Pin.

Step 1:

  1. Purchase Application Voucher
  2. Log on to uenr.edu.gh and on the application link enter the Application Number and PIN
  • On the next page select the admission type (e.g. Undergraduate-WASSCE/SSSCE, Undergraduate-HND and Diploma, etc.).
  • Change the default PIN on the Voucher to your own PIN (PIN must be a minimum of 8 characters)
  • Proceed to the personal data page and complete the application
  • Click submit after filling the online application form
  • Applicants will receive SMS notification after submitting the online application.

Step 2

  1. Log into your e-mail and access your username and password
  2. Follow the link in your e-mail to login to the UENR ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM. You will be required to reset your password on your first login.
  3. Login again with your new PIN
  4. Click on new application
  5. Fill the new Application Form
  6. After submitting, print your details. The details could be printed later by logging in to your application portal (using your new PIN) through  the link provided in your  e-mail.

Step 3

Completed Application Form

Applicants must purchase EMS envelopes from Ghana Post and send via post the completed APPLICATION FORM together with photocopies of certificates and result slip(s) to:

FEE PAYING APPLICANTS

Applicants who do not meet the Competitive Requirements and Cut-Off Points but satisfy the Minimum Entry Requirements of Aggregate 24 and 36 or better for SSSCE and WASSCE applicants respectively may apply for the Fee Paying option. Applicants who wish to take advantage of the Fee Paying option should indicate when filling their Application Forms.

ACCOMMODATION

Prospective students who may wish to be considered for hostel accommodation are to indicate the request on their Application Form. Such students would pay the appropriate Residential Facility User Fees.

2024 WASSCE Candidates

CANDIDATES FOR THE WEST AFRICAN SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION, 2024 can also apply. Such applicants must select “Awaiting Results” in place of the grade in the online application portal.

The closing date for submission of the Application Form is THURSDAY, 30TH NOVEMBER 2024.
