Our client is a leading Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Claims Management business in Sydney. Their goal is to help people get their lives back through ongoing support during their return-to-work journey. They continue to experience ongoing growth and now have over 2,800 dedicated employees across Australia.
The Talent Acquisition Manager for the Sydney office is visiting the UK in October and is looking to conduct interviews with interested applicants who may be looking to transfer their PI careers into the Sydney job market for 2-4 years.
Job Role
This position works in an environment where people are passionate about helping others, with a focus on service and support to all stakeholders to provide proactive, timely and effective management of support claims.
Case Management
- Determine eligibility and accept/dispute liability with the ability to escalate as needed
- Provide workers compensation advice to stakeholders such as workers, employers and providers
- Undertake ongoing entitlement reviews in relation to weekly payments and medical expenses
- Independently manage a portfolio of claims
- Collaborate with Injury Management Specialists and Technical Specialists and other technical and support experts
- Assist the worker and employer with the claim process and providing support in the completion of relevant documents to ensure timely access to required services to support return to work and injury recovery
- Make decisions regarding the recovery and return to work process
- Facilitate active participation of the injured worker and their employer in any return to work and recovery planning
- Ensure case management is in accordance with legislation and compliance guidelines
- Work in accordance with employer policies and procedures
- Proactively proceed with appropriate case management to achieve the optimum outcome of early sustainable return to work for workers with reasonable claim costs

- Ensure that all open claims are reviewed regularly and file reviews are maintained
- Identify and contribute to processes and practices for continuous improvement opportunities
What you’ll need to succeed
- Strong technical capabilities
- 12 months of Insurance experience within Personal Injury Claims, Medical Claims, Rehabilitation or Occupational Health Advice
- Experience in creating solutions and problem-solving
- Conflict resolution and negotiation experience
- Relevant allied health, insurance or business qualification (desirable)
