Our client, a leading Mortgage Bank is seeking to fill the role of a Human Resources Officer.

The ideal role holder will be responsible for implementing various human resources programs and will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, including coordinating training programs, administering employee benefits, recruitment & onboarding, policy implementation, among others. The ideal role holder will also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related issues.

Job Description

  • Assist in recruitment and selection processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding (ensuring proper & seamless integration of staff) and help organize training & development initiatives
  • Process payroll, pension and benefits in compliance with applicable legislations
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Ensure that all HR statistical data and employee records and information stored physically and electronically are accurate and up-to-date
  • Prepare the schedule for activities involved in the leave, disciplinary, dismissal, transfer and promotion of employees
  • Liaise with the bank’s HMO on staff medical issues from time to time
  • Implement health and safety standards across the bank
  • Coordinate organizational training needs assessment and plan training and development interventions in line with the overall strategy for improved performance
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the end-to-end HR service and HR related projects across the employee lifecycle
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards or regulations
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Person Specification

  • HND/ B.Sc. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience as an HR Generalist or a similar role preferably in the banking sector.
  • Membership of recognised professional body is required (e.g., Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, CIPM)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of employment laws and best practices
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
