All qualified Nigerians are eligible to apply for the Nigeria Award Scholarship (NA) for the 2026/23 academic year, which can be used at any public tertiary institution in the country. The honorable Minister of Education (HME), Adamu Adamu, issued the invitation.

Eligibility for Federal Government Scholarships for Higher Education
- Candidates must hold a first degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours Upper Division and be registered as full-time students at a Federal or State university in order to be considered for postgraduate studies.
- All other applicants, including those enrolled in Undergraduate, Higher National Diploma, and Nigeria Certificate in Education programs, must be full-time students in their second or higher year at a Federal or State University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic, or College of Education.
- Applicants for undergraduate scholarships, including those with physical disabilities, must have a CGPA of at least 5.0 on a 7-point scale or 4.0 on a 5-point scale (or its equivalent).
- On a 4.0 scale, applicants for the NCE and HND must have a CGPA of 3.5 or higher.
Note
- The scholarship is valid in Nigeria and begins at the start of the academic year.
- It cannot be combined with another Award or used for part-time studies.
- It is forbidden to alter the institution or course.
- While receiving the award, it is not permitted to alter course or institution.

How to Apply for a Federal Government Scholarship for a Higher Education Institution
The steps that must be taken by candidates who meet the requirements are as follows:
- Select the Federal Scholarship Board ICON on the homepage of the website operated by the Federal Ministry of Education at www.education.gov.ng.
- Complete the online application form after carefully reading the instructions.
- Print out the finished application structure.
- Keep in mind that entering twice will disqualify you.
Attach the following documents:
- Current School’s Identity Card
- Letter of Admission to the Institution
From 6 February 2026 to 20 March 2026, the registration portal will be accessible.
