The Hertie School is a German private, independent graduate school for governance located in Berlin’s Friedrichstraße. It is a public policy school and is accredited to confer masters and doctoral degrees. New Perspectives International Scholarship provides the following benefits:
- This scholarship is available for the Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs, or Master of Data Science for Public Policy

- One full scholarship worth 36,500 euros

This scholarship is open to all international students.
Eligibility by Criteria
All applicants are motivated to pair their STEM background with training in public policy or international affairs in order to effect positive change in any sector.
How to Apply
- First, submit a standard application to the MPP, MIA, or MDS program.
- Additionally, write a brief letter of motivation (max. 900 words), create a photo essay (max. 5 pages), or make a short video (max. 2 minutes) elaborating on the following: Please identify a specific social or political problem that you would like to solve and explain how a degree in public policy or international affairs, together with your prior education and professional experience, would help you do so. Additionally, propose a solution and/or analyze why previously proposed solutions failed to solve the social or political problem that you have identified. The additional motivation material should be sent to grad-admissions at hertie-school[dot]org after a standard application has been submitted.
- Interested applicants should submit their applications and motivation statements before 1 February. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
