Requirements for Amazon Future Engineer Scholarships Qualification
To qualify for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a high school senior or graduate who has completed high school in the United States.
- Be planning to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the upcoming academic year.
- Intend to pursue a degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
- Be from an undeserved or underrepresented community, including women, underrepresented minorities, and low-income students
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or another computer-science-related field of study (visit the application page for a full list of accepted degrees)
- Have a minimum average of 75% over the last three terms of available marks (visit the application page for more details). Non-academic courses such as career or personal development-related courses will not be considered.
- Demonstrate financial need
A portion of the scholarships awarded will be reserved for applicants from communities that are underrepresented in computer science.
Additionally, applicants must submit an online application, including an essay and transcripts, and provide two letters of recommendation from teachers or other adults who can speak to their academic abilities and potential.
